Police Slay Edo kidnapper, Rescue Abducted Woman

The Edo State Police Command announced that it had freed a woman who had been abducted and killed a suspect in Uzala Forest, Egba Community.

In a statement on Tuesday, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Jennifer Iwegbu stated that the success of the rescue operation was a result of crucial information provided to the authorities by Aisosa Moses, the victim’s spouse.

She stated: “On August 22, 2022, the Edo State Police Command successfully freed a kidnapped victim as part of its ongoing fight against horrible crimes, particularly kidnapping.

“This accomplishment came about as a result of a complaint made by Mr. Aisosa Moses from the Ayaen Community in Edo State. He said that on their way back home with his wife and daughter, two thugs they thought might be kidnappers ambushed them at the door and took his wife into the bush.

The command’s personnel mobilized right away and started a thorough bush search in an attempt to locate the kidnappers and launch a rescue operation.

The kidnappers attempted to flee through the bush after the operatives followed them to their hideout in the Uzala Forest. However, the vigilant and battle-ready operatives neutralized one of the suspects and left the victim, who was rescued unharmed, behind.

According to Iwegbu, state Commissioner of Police Abutu Yaro asked people to go about their regular lives and pleaded with them to keep working with the command to rid the state of criminals and their allies.
