Edo unveils fleet management platform
The Edo State Government has introduced a cutting-edge fleet management system, MEGA Connect, aimed at optimizing the use of its vehicle assets and reducing governance costs. The platform is set to become fully operational by the end of October.

At the Fleet Management Workshop, Head of Service Anthony Okungbowa Esq. emphasized the need for a sustainable strategy to manage state-owned vehicles, ensuring optimal utilization and distribution. He highlighted the current state of abandonment and underutilization of the government’s fleet, stressing the importance of deploying technology to improve service delivery and minimize costs.
Governor Godwin Obaseki has established a fleet management committee to assess the state of government-owned vehicles and design a technology-driven fleet management system. The committee aims to track vehicles, losses, and damages, reducing expenditure losses.
Okungbowa explained that the new initiative will minimize costs, improve service delivery, and ensure automobile resources are optimally utilized.
Special Adviser Sarah Esangbedo Ajose-Adeogun added that the system will utilize technology for asset management, tracking, and optimization, leading to reduced fueling costs, improved planning, and extended asset life.
