Pray for Us to make Right Decision, Obaseki urges Edo Christian Pilgrims

Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has asked Christian pilgrims from the State to pray for divine intervention so that Nigerians will be able to make the right choice in the general elections of 2023.

Along with the First Lady, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, and the Chief of Staff, Hon. Toni Iyoha, the Governor made this charge as he bid the pilgrims farewell at the Benin Airport on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. He also praised the Chairman of the Edo State Christian Pilgrims Board for the sanity his leadership has brought to the Board.

“I would like to take this chance to express my gratitude to the chairman of the board for bringing sanity to the board. A significant worry for the government during previous pilgrimages was the number of pilgrims who absconded. However, Edo State has been praised for having no incidents of pilgrims absconding during the last few pilgrimages,” the governor stated.

“You are conducting this exercise one week ahead of an election that will be highly consequential for our nation,” the speaker stated.

I am here to implore you all to pray for us, for our nation, for our state, and for the nation’s leaders so that God will work on our hearts and guide us to make the best decisions for the advancement of our nation.”

He declared, “The board experienced absconding before your administration, but since your administration, there have been none to the extent that the Nigerian Pilgrims Commission had to write a letter of commendation to hail Edo State.”
