The Edo State Police Command has officially welcomed ASP Eno Ikoedem as its new Public Relations Officer (PRO), marking a historic milestone as she becomes the first female officer to hold the position in the command.
Her appointment, approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by ASP Emmanuel Nyokema, Administrative Officer in the Police Public Relations Unit.
Before her elevation, ASP Ikoedem served as Deputy PRO to two consecutive spokespersons, gaining valuable experience in police communications and public engagement. Nyokema described her appointment as a significant step forward for policing in Edo, noting that it reflects the command’s commitment to inclusivity and effective communication with the public.
“This development is a milestone for policing and public engagement in the state,” Nyokema said.
ASP Ikoedem is a graduate of the Nigeria Police Academy, where she completed a rigorous five-year training programme and earned a Bachelor’s degree in English. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), further strengthening her academic and professional credentials.
Her background, Nyokema explained, places her in a strong position to advance the command’s communication strategy. In addition to her academic achievements, she has served in various operational and administrative roles across divisions in Edo State, equipping her with practical knowledge of policing and community relations.
