Auchi Poly Shuts Down Ahead of Election

In a move aligned with the Federal Ministry of Education’s directive, the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo State has announced the closure of the institution. This decision, which affects polytechnics across the country, is believed to be in preparation for the upcoming elections scheduled for Saturday.

According to a statement from the Acting Registrar, Mrs. F.I. Eshiotse, the closure follows extensive consultations with relevant security agencies and the directive issued by the Minister of State for Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu. Effective from Wednesday, February 22, the closure ensures the safety and security of the institution. However, staff members responsible for providing essential services are exempt from the closure.

Furthermore, the statement revealed that the normal academic activities at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi would resume in March 2023. In light of this, students residing in the hostels have been instructed to vacate the premises no later than 12 noon on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
