Edo Government Revives Monthly Sanitation Exercise to Promote Public Health

The Edo State Government has announced the reintroduction of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise aimed at fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for its citizens.

The initiative, scheduled to commence on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, will be held on the last Saturday of every month, between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 am.

The announcement, made official by Secretary to the State Government Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., emphasizes the governor’s dedication to improving public health through environmental cleanliness.

“The reintroduction of the exercise is premised on His Excellency’s commitment to ensure a healthier and cleaner environment for the good people of Edo State,” Ikhilor stated.

During the designated sanitation hours, strict restrictions on movement will be enforced. “Human and vehicular movements will be strictly prohibited except for officers on essential duties,” clarified Ikhilor. This measure is designed to ensure maximum participation and encourage all residents to actively engage in cleaning their immediate surroundings.

The government urges all residents of Edo State to embrace the initiative and actively participate in the monthly sanitation exercise.
