Governor Monday Okpebholo has expressed his gratitude to the Edo State House of Assembly for their consistent support and harmonious working relationship with his administration.
The Governor’s appreciation was conveyed in a statement released on Sunday by his chief press secretary, Dr. Patrick Ebojele.
The commendation follows an Easter visit by the Speaker of the Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, and other members to the Governor’s residence in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area.
Governor Okpebholo lauded the Assembly’s significant contributions to the state’s overall progress, specifically highlighting the construction of Edo’s first flyover as a landmark achievement. He attributed this success to the strong unity and synergy between the Executive and Legislative branches of the Edo State government.
“I am very happy that since I assumed office in November 2024, you created a peaceful atmosphere for my administration,” the Governor stated. He emphasized that this collaborative environment has enabled his administration to effectively implement policies and achieve its established goals.
“When the House is united and there is no division, there is always a pass mark to show the Edo people,” he added.
Governor Okpebholo urged the lawmakers to maintain this peaceful atmosphere and continue their cooperation to ensure continued development and prosperity for the state.
Speaker Agbebaku, during the visit, reaffirmed the Assembly’s unwavering support for the Governor’s policies and programs. He pledged the Assembly’s commitment to approving budgets and collaborating closely with the Executive branch to successfully implement the SHINE agenda, aimed at sustainable development and improved living standards for the people of Edo State.
