Edo NIPR Urges Governor Okpebholo to Prioritize Security, Inclusive Development in 2026

The Edo State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has called upon Governor Monday Okpebholo to prioritize sustained security efforts, strengthened governance, and inclusive development initiatives in 2026.

In a statement released by State Chairman Dr. James-Wisdom Abhulimen, the NIPR emphasized the fundamental role of security in fostering development, urging continued investment in professional policing and rural safety measures.

The NIPR also advocated for sustained investment in social protection programs, skills development, healthcare access, and farmer support schemes to improve livelihoods and enhance food security.

Dr. Abhulimen commended the Governor’s early strides in institutional rebuilding and economic revitalization, acknowledging the positive impact of measures taken to address insecurity.

The NIPR affirmed its readiness to collaborate with the Edo State government through ethical public relations practices and strategic communication, offering counsel to strengthen governance processes and foster public understanding of government policies.

The statement concluded with a call for Edo State residents to actively support development by safeguarding public assets and promoting peace and unity. The NIPR expressed optimism for a 2026 characterized by compassionate leadership and sustainable development for Edo State and Nigeria.
