Edo PDP Releases Timetable for Senatorial and Federal Constituency Bye-Elections

The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially released the timetable for the upcoming bye-elections for the Edo Central Senatorial district and the Ovia Federal Constituency.

The announcement followed a meeting of the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) held on Friday at the PDP State Secretariat in Benin City.

Henry Tenebe, Secretary of the party’s Caretaker Committee in the state, signed the communiqué outlining the approved schedule.

According to the statement, the SWC has informed all members, aspirants, and stakeholders of the timetable, which has been sanctioned by the PDP’s National Working Committee in accordance with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.

The sale of nomination and expression of interest forms commenced on Saturday and will continue until Thursday. The forms are available for purchase and submission at the PDP State Secretariat located at 20 Aiguobasimwin Crescent, GRA, Benin City.

The party emphasized strict adherence to the outlined timetable, procedures, and guidelines. Ward congresses for the election of three-man ad hoc delegates, where applicable, are scheduled for July 17th at designated party ward secretariats.

Local government congresses to elect one national delegate per Local Government Area (LGA) will be held on July 18th at each LGA party secretariat.

The Edo PDP reaffirmed its dedication to a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, emphasizing party discipline and democratic principles. The party urged all members and stakeholders to cooperate in ensuring the smooth and peaceful conduct of the bye-elections.
