Edo Police Command Launches ‘Operation Akhulikpata’: A Show of Force to Safeguard Residents’ Lives and Property at Yuletide

The Edo State Police Command is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the safety and security of residents during and after the Yuletide season.

In a resolute display of their commitment, the State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Adamu Dankwara, unveiled “Operation Akhulikpata” during the launch of a formidable ‘Operation Show of Force’ in Benin City.

Commissioner Dankwara reassured the public that robust measures have been implemented to protect both life and property, sending a strong message to criminals that they will face stern resistance. He expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of all the security agencies in the state, emphasizing the shared goal of a crime-free and peaceful Edo State.

He expressed, “The operation we will send off today will let the hoodlums know that we are prepared. We have been letting them know we are prepared yet we are trying harder to checkmate the exercises of hoodlums and culpability in Edo State.

“I want to appreciate everyone. We are doing very well. A lot of people are acknowledging our excellent performance. There is synergy between all the security agencies in the state. The essence of this gathering is to have a crime-free and peaceful Edo State. I codenamed this year’s show of force as ‘Operation Akhulikpata’.”

During the launch, Police Command spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, shed light on the essence of “Operation Akhulikpata.” He stated that the operation’s objective is to chase out the criminal elements, instilling confidence in the people of Edo State and the general public. “We are already in the ember months. We will eventually approach December. At this point, it should be noted that we are on our responsibilities to protect people’s lives and property in order to tackle criminality,” he said.

In an impressive display of unity, various security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, the Directorate of State Services, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Air Force, Federal Road Safety Corps, the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the Nigerian Customs, and the Edo Security Network, participated in the operation.
