Edo State Bolsters Security with New Fleet of Motorcycles, Patrol Vehicles
The Edo State Government has intensified its security measures by distributing a fresh batch of motorcycles and patrol vehicles to community security operatives across the state. This move aims to fortify the state’s security network and enhance intelligence gathering capabilities.
Col. Kole Oshoriamhe Omomia (Rtd), Coordinator of the Edo State Security Network, announced this development during a press briefing in Benin City. “The distribution of these vehicles will significantly augment our patrol activities and intelligence-gathering efforts, leading to a reduction in crime rates, particularly during the upcoming Yuletide season.”
To further bolster security, Col. Omomia revealed that a monitoring team would be established to oversee the 18 local government areas in Edo State. “These motorcycles and vehicles will complement our existing fleet, including the Toyota Sienna vehicles already deployed in Edo North and Edo Central.”
Col. Omomia commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Edo residents.
Kennedy Osaumien Aghimien, Vigilante Commander in Ute, Uhunwonde Local Government Area, expressed gratitude to the government for its sustained support to security agencies, enabling them to function effectively.
