Edo State’s Fresh Start: Okpebholo Sworn in as Governor

In a significant political transition for Edo State, Mr. Monday Okpebholo was inaugurated as the new governor on Tuesday, marking a new chapter in the state’s governance. His election follows the completion of a second term by former Governor Godwin Obaseki, signifying a shift in leadership that promises to address the evolving needs of Edo residents.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the prestigious Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, where Chief Justice of the State, Daniel Okungbowa, administered the oath of office to both the newly elected governor and his deputy. During this solemn occasion, the two leaders pledged to adhere to the constitution and to prioritize the welfare of the citizens of Edo State. The commitment to uphold democratic values and serve the populace was a central theme of their addresses.

The event attracted an impressive array of dignitaries, reflecting the importance of this political milestone. Notable attendees included Vice President Kashim Shettima, who reinforced the significance of cooperation among state leadership for the benefit of national progress.
