Edo teachers Receive Keys to Emotan Gardens Houses with tears of joy

In a jubilant event at Emotan Gardens Estate, Edo State Government bestowed keys to two 2-bedroom bungalows upon Mrs. Benedicta Idele and Mrs. Noragbon Enogiomwen Osaro, recognizing their stellar achievements as Best Teachers in the 2018 and 2021 Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition.

The atmosphere was electric as the first batch of 68 housing unit subscribers received their long-awaited keys, a moment brimming with excitement and gratitude for Governor Godwin Obaseki’s pledge to honor their investment in the housing project.

Managing Director of Edo State Property Development Agency (EDPA), Mr. John Zedomi, hailed the occasion as a significant milestone, underscoring the Obaseki-led administration’s unwavering commitment to providing affordable and top-notch housing solutions for the people.

Zedomi stated, “Today marks the handover of the initial 68 housing units in the Emotan Gardens Estate, with some subscribers already receiving their units. The Governor’s promise to reward exceptional teachers like Mrs. Idele Benedicta and Mrs. Noragbon is upheld today as they receive their well-deserved homes.”

With plans in place for the second phase of the estate, encompassing 140 housing units equipped with vital amenities like a central sewage system, reliable power from Ossiomo Power Plant, and a Police post, the state government continues to prioritize holistic development for its residents.

Expressing her gratitude, Mrs. Benedicta Idele, the 1st runner-up in the 2021 Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition, praised Governor Obaseki for fulfilling his vow and fostering a culture of recognizing hard work and dedication. She pledged to continue making Edo State proud on various educational platforms, urging fellow teachers to stay committed in their service.

Similarly, Mrs. Noragbon Enogiomwen Osaro, acclaimed as the best administrative teacher in 2018, and 2nd runner-up in the 2020 Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition, lauded Governor Obaseki’s thoughtful gesture and commitment to educational excellence.

The event was graced by dignitaries including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing, Dr. Peter Osagie, and officials from the EDPA, emphasizing the government’s holistic approach to rewarding dedication and merit in Edo State.
