Held at the Edo Production Centre in Benin City, the expo brings together stakeholders from the tech community, universities, polytechnics, technical colleges, and private innovators, artisans, and companies. The theme, “Leveraging Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Economic Growth and Development,” reflects the event’s focus on driving progress through innovation.
A standout exhibit is the modular refinery developed by Edo State University, Uzairue, which can refine 5,000 liters of crude oil into various petroleum products. According to Mr. Prosper Ikhazuangbe, a spokesperson for the developers, “We spent over a year perfecting this setup, which can produce engine oil, kerosene, gas, and cooking gas. We’re eager to partner with investors to commercialize these products.”
The expo aims to attract investors and facilitate the commercialization of these innovative solutions, driving economic growth and development in Edo State.
