The Edo State Skills Development Agency, EdoJobs, in partnership with the Real Time International Film Festival (RTF), is gearing up to host a prestigious gathering of over 500 film industry stakeholders in Benin City.
This marks the 7th edition of the RTF, showcasing Edo State as a prime location for film and television productions.
Ukinebo Dare, Managing Director of EdoJobs, highlighted the festival’s significance: “This event is a strategic initiative by the Edo State Government to reposition the state as a hub for creative excellence, attracting national and international filmmakers, producers, directors, and actors.”
The nine-day festival, scheduled for August 19th to August 27th, 2022, will be held across three venues: Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub and Sound Stage (VUCHSS), Kada Cinemas, and Edo Film Village. This year’s edition features a curated selection of films from over 5,000 local and international submissions.
Dare emphasized the partnership’s goal: “By hosting the RTF in Edo State, we aim to expose emerging talents in the creative sector to industry veterans and stakeholders, providing a platform for them to compete favorably in Nollywood.”
The festival, now in its 7th year, has previously been held in Lagos. This collaboration with Edo State Government marks a new chapter, promoting creative skills development and job opportunities for residents. EdoJobs is co-hosting the event alongside partners German Cooperation GIZ and Kada Cinemas, solidifying Edo State’s commitment to the creative industry.
