The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed 1,900 prospective corps members to Edo State for the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream I service year, marking the commencement of their mandatory national service.
Mrs. Frances Ben-Ushie, the NYSC Coordinator in Edo, announced the deployment in a statement released to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday. She confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been finalized to receive the new corps members at the Permanent Orientation Camp located in Okada, Ovia North East Local Government Area.

The orientation course is scheduled to officially begin on Friday, April 25, with a formal opening and swearing-in ceremony slated for 9:00 a.m.
“The Executive Governor of Edo, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is expected to declare the orientation course open, while the Chief Judge of the state will administer the oath of allegiance to the corps members,” Mrs. Ben-Ushie stated.

The Coordinator expressed her gratitude to the people of Edo State for their consistent warm reception of corps members and appealed for their continued support throughout the service year.
“We are grateful to the good people of Edo for always welcoming corps members with open arms,” she said. “We ask for your continued support to help these young Nigerians have a productive and memorable service year.”
Mrs. Ben-Ushie also reassured the public that all necessary logistics and arrangements are in place to ensure a seamless and secure orientation exercise for the incoming corps members. The NYSC aims to provide a conducive environment for the young graduates to contribute to national development while gaining valuable experience and skills.
