Mr. Fawaz Muhammad, Speaker of the Edo Youth Parliament, has called on young people in Edo State to take advantage of the state government’s N1 billion interest-free loan program to support their entrepreneurial ventures.
Speaking on Friday in Benin City, Muhammad emphasized that the initiative is designed to empower youths, enhance their livelihoods, and stimulate economic growth and development across the state.
The Speaker highlighted the skills, resourcefulness, and talent of Edo youths, noting that many require capital to launch or expand their businesses.
He believes the interest-free loan program will significantly reduce unrest and crime by providing meaningful engagement opportunities for young people.
Muhammad lauded Governor Sen. Monday Okpebholo for his administration’s strategic focus on youth empowerment, describing the initiative as a “bold and commendable investment in the capacity, creativity, and future of Edo youths.”
He urged beneficiaries to use the opportunity wisely and become exemplary representatives of the values and vision upheld by the state.
