Gov. Okpebholo Emphasizes Discipline and Results at Edo Leadership Retreat

Governor Monday Okpebholo has called on leaders within the Edo State civil and public service to prioritize discipline, teamwork, and measurable outcomes. The Governor’s message was delivered at the opening of a three-day Orientation and Strategic Leadership Retreat held in Esan Central Local Government Area.

The retreat, themed “High-Performing Public Service for Sustainable Development of Edo State,” is designed to enhance governance and service delivery.

Okpebholo stressed that the event was a serious engagement focused on strengthening collaboration across ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). He reiterated that public office is a call to service, not personal enrichment, and that every expenditure and policy must yield tangible results.

Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Musa Ikhilor, presented Project S.H.I.N.E., the administration’s strategic framework for Edo’s transformation.

Head of Service, Dr. Anthony Okungbowa, expressed confidence that the retreat would bolster leadership capacity and improve service delivery. Participants included commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries, and heads of MDAs.
