Igarra: 21-Year-Old Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Creditor

In a shocking turn of events in the Ogbeh community of Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, operatives from the Edo State Police Command have apprehended a 21-year-old man named Ononomeh Badamasi in relation to the untimely demise of a 52-year-old man, Orumidayo Awolowo.

Confirming the arrest, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, revealed that the suspect was taken into custody by the Igarra Police Division.

The arrest followed a complaint made by the deceased’s brother, who alleged that Badamasi had purchased a knife from his brother but failed to pay for it. The unfortunate altercation transpired when the deceased demanded payment for the outstanding amount owed.

The police swiftly intervened at the scene only to discover that, in response to the incident, enraged youths had set three houses and a motorcycle ablaze.

The suspect has admitted guilt, according to the Police Public Relations Officer. The deceased’s body has been transferred to a mortuary for autopsy purposes.

Edo State Police have launched a full investigation into the matter, uncovering the troubling circumstances surrounding this unfortunate clash stemming from a debt dispute.
