JOOPSA Partners Nexford Varsity to Train Edo Public Workers
The John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) has formed a strategic alliance with Nexford University, a prominent online institution based in the United States. This partnership aims to transform digital learning by providing training and retraining opportunities for public and civil servants to enhance service delivery.
Imuwahen Ajoonu, the Director General of JOOPSA, announced this collaboration, stating that it has enabled the Edo State government to launch an innovative digital learning platform. This platform is designed to equip its workforce with the necessary skills to excel in the digital era and contribute to the state’s economic development.
“In this era of disruption, digitalization has become a crucial catalyst for progress and competitiveness in our fast-paced world,” said Ajoonu. “This groundbreaking partnership promises to deliver numerous benefits to civil and public servants across Edo State. Ajoonu emphasized that this digital initiative’s flexibility would enable individuals to enhance their knowledge and skills while effectively balancing their work commitments. She further explained that the digital learning initiative draws on Nexford University’s expertise in providing high-quality, flexible online education, thereby offering accessible learning opportunities to individuals in Edo State.
The partnership aims to close the skills gap by providing comprehensive programs in various digital disciplines, including data analytics, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, among others.
One of the key benefits of this collaboration, according to Ajoonu, is the integration of online and offline learning through JOOPSA’s extensive learning network in the state. “This blended approach allows civil and public servants to access digital courses while also benefiting from remote and in-person interactions with qualified instructors, resulting in a comprehensive learning experience,” she added.
