The governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, was honoured with an Award by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) for his outstanding performance in routine immunization in the South-south region, on Friday, August 26, 2022.
The Award was given to the Commissioner for Health, Edo State, Professor Obehi Akoria, who represented the Governor, by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha, at a ceremony in Abuja, which was aired live on CHANNELS Television.
The National Primary Health Care Development Agency said Governor Obaseki was the Best Performing Governor in the South-south region because he “set up the electronic patient record system in 52 primary health care centers, and created telemedicine hubs in Ugbor and Oredo Primary Health Care Centers in partnership with Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA).”
The agency also said: “Obaseki reassigned health workers from HMA to EDSPHCDA to enhance service delivery, hired health workers for EDSPHCDA and moved PHC staff pay points to the State Government.”
