The Olokpe of Okpe Kingdom in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, HRH. Oba Okhishimede Eshimokhai Idogu III, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Prince Bamidele Obaitan, in Benin City.
The traditional ruler said he was in the office of the commissioner to formally congratulate him on his well-deserved appointment and to also seek collaboration with the ministry in areas that will project the rich culture and tourism potential of Edo people to the global world.
The Olokpe of Okpe harped on the need to market all tourism sites in the state in order to attract local and foreign investors.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Obaseki for appointing a son with a rich cultural background, and sought partnership during his forthcoming 35th year anniversary as Olokpe of Okpe Land.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Prince Bamidele Obaitan, extolled the monarch for having faith in the Obaseki administration.
He told the Olokpe of Okpe that the Ministry was working on a platform through public private partnership for investors in culture and tourism through digitalization.
