Oshiomhole Commissions Nine-Classroom Block at Ojah School in Akoko Edo

In a significant boost to rural education infrastructure, Senator Adams Oshiomhole (APC-Edo) on Tuesday commissioned a newly constructed block of classrooms at Oza Comprehensive High School in Ojah, Akoko Edo Local Government Area.

The facility, comprising nine classrooms, offices, and modern toilets, was built to enhance the learning environment for students and teachers in the community.

Representing Edo North Senatorial District, Oshiomhole described the project as a fulfillment of a promise he made during his 2023 campaign.

He recalled that Ojah was one of the few communities that missed out on the “red roof” school upgrades during his tenure as governor, and pledged to correct that oversight.

“Today, we’re not just opening classrooms—we’re opening doors to opportunity,” Oshiomhole said.

“This structure is for the comfort of our students and the dignity of our teachers. It’s a promise kept.” he added.

He urged the school community to maintain the facility responsibly and announced plans to furnish the classrooms and install a borehole within the school compound in the coming week.

The school’s principal, Mr. Joseph Uzuamu, expressed deep appreciation for the senator’s intervention, noting that the new infrastructure would significantly improve teaching and learning conditions.

“This is more than a building—it’s a statement of commitment to education,” he said.

Uzuamu praised Oshiomhole’s consistent efforts to uplift education in Edo State, both during his time as governor and now as a senator.

“Your legacy in education continues to grow, and we are grateful,” he added.

The traditional ruler of Ojah, Oba Daniel Lawani, and student representative Abigael Daramola also commended the senator for honoring his campaign pledge.

“This gift to our community will be remembered for generations,” the monarch said.

The classroom donation is part of Oshiomhole’s broader initiative to improve educational access and infrastructure across Edo North, reinforcing his commitment to grassroots development and youth empowerment.
