Security: Edo Govt to Establish Emergency Communication Centers

The government of Edo State has recently announced its intention to set up Emergency Communication Centers throughout the state, a move aimed at bolstering its security framework.

This development was shared at a media conference led by the Honourable Commissioner for Public Security and Safety, Hon. Kingsley Uwagbale.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been forged between the Nigerian Communications Commission and the Edo State Government. This alliance is designed to bring about a transformation in the approach to emergencies within the state’s safety and security system.

The aspiration of Governor Obaseki for a secure and flourishing Edo State by 2050 was articulated by Hon. Uwagbale, who acted as the governor’s representative at the commission. The commissioner underscored that the protection of every inhabitant is the administration’s paramount concern.

The MOU signing event was graced by the presence of Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, who stood in for the Executive Vice Chairman of the commission, accompanied by a delegation from the Edo State Government.

Hon. Uwagbale went on to stress that this strategic security blueprint is not restricted to Edo State alone but serves as a paradigm that other states are advised to emulate.
