The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has officially announced October 31, 2025, as the deadline for candidates offered provisional admission to accept their placements for the upcoming 2025/2026 academic session.
The announcement follows national guidelines set during the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Policy Meeting, which involved vice chancellors and other key stakeholders in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.
In a statement released by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, the institution emphasized that failure to accept the admission offer before the stipulated date would result in forfeiture of the opportunity.
Candidates are advised to promptly log into the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) to formally accept their admission and complete all required registration steps ahead of resumption.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Edoba B. Omoregie, SAN, extended congratulations to all newly admitted students and reaffirmed the university’s readiness to welcome them as full-fledged undergraduates. He noted that academic activities for the new session will commence on Monday, November 10, 2025.
“The University of Benin is excited to receive its newest cohort of students and looks forward to a productive academic year,” the statement read.
The university’s management urged all admitted candidates to act swiftly to secure their places and ensure a smooth transition into campus life. With preparations underway, UNIBEN is set to kick off the new academic year with renewed energy and commitment to excellence.
