Auchi Polytechnic held its 43rd Matriculation ceremony, welcoming 10,090 new students for the 2024/2025 academic session. The event marked a significant milestone for the institution as the newly admitted students embarked on their educational journeys.

Dr. Salisu Umar, the Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, announced that the new students were selected from a competitive pool of applicants for various National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs.

“Today, we matriculate a total number of 10,090 students, out of which 5,407 will be studying Diploma (ND). Higher National Diploma (HND) students are 4,390, while 293 have been admitted to study degree programs,” he stated.

In his address, Umar emphasized the importance of seizing the opportunity for polytechnic education. “I urge you not to lose the golden opportunity of acquiring polytechnic education,” he said, congratulating the students and encouraging them to focus on their studies.

“This is the first stage of your intellectual journey through this great polytechnic. It is my hope that at the end of your program, you will make a successful and triumphant exit from this polytechnic,” he added.

The rector also reiterated the institution’s commitment to maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment, declaring a zero-tolerance policy for cultism and other social vices.

“The management frowns at the membership of cult groups. Our matriculating students must be found worthy of learning and character to obtain a certificate at Auchi Polytechnic,” he remarked.

Umar urged the new students to avoid behaviors that could jeopardize their futures, including examination malpractice, sexual misconduct, and fraudulent activities.

He concluded by reminding students of the oath they would take, pledging obedience to the rector, and maintaining good conduct throughout their time at the polytechnic.
