Edo Queens Bolster Ranks with Five New Signings

Edo Queens, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), have significantly reinforced their squad with the acquisition of five promising players.

The strategic additions are aimed at maintaining their dominance as they prepare for the crucial second half of the season.

Joining the Benin City-based club are Anjor Mary, a dynamic midfielder arriving from Bayelsa Queens, and Rebecca Adegbemile, a defender transferring from Delta Queens. Further bolstering the squad are Winifred Eyegboria, Vincent Precious, and Happiness Titus, all formerly with Remo Stars Ladies.

The club confirmed that all five players have signed one-year contracts, committing their immediate future to Edo Queens. They have already integrated into the team, participating in training sessions ahead of the resumption of the NWFL season.

“We are excited to welcome these talented players to Edo Queens,” a club statement noted. “Their individual skills and experience will undoubtedly strengthen our squad as we strive to defend our title and achieve further success.”

The second stanza of the NWFL season is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Edo Queens will kick off their campaign with a highly anticipated clash against Ekiti Queens, promising an exciting start to the second half of the season.

The addition of these five players is expected to provide Edo Queens with a competitive edge as they aim to continue their winning form.
