The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved a new round of appointments into key positions. The announcement, made on October 27, 2025, by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, reflects the governor’s commitment to strengthening institutional frameworks and ensuring inclusive representation across the state.
Among the notable appointments is Orobosa Omo-Ojo, who assumes the role of General Manager of the Bendel Newspaper Corporation, a position expected to enhance state-owned media operations and public communication.
In the area of fiscal policy, Mr. John Inegbedion has been appointed Special Adviser on Tax Reforms, a strategic role aimed at improving revenue generation and ensuring transparency in Edo’s tax administration. Similarly, Johnson Adamu will serve as Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, underscoring the administration’s focus on social welfare and poverty reduction.
Legal and agricultural reforms also received attention, with Shuaibu Elamah named Special Adviser on Law Reforms, and Dr. Aminu Imafidor appointed Special Adviser on Livestock, Aquaculture, and Agro-Processing. In a clear demonstration of gender inclusivity, the governor appointed multiple advisers dedicated to women mobilization across the state’s three senatorial districts. Omorede O. E.
