Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District, has extended his empowerment drive to 300 women and youths by donating essential business tools, including hair dryers, sewing machines, and grinding machines.
The initiative, announced on Monday, is aimed at equipping beneficiaries with resources to establish small-scale enterprises and generate sustainable income.
Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Mr. Victor Oshioke, Oshiomhole explained that the empowerment programme was designed to expose constituents to viable sources of livelihood and reduce dependence on handouts.
“Empowering the constituents will further enhance livelihoods and create sustainable opportunities for the people. We are committed to your welfare through championing causes vital to the prosperity and well-being of Edo North. Today, we are distributing items to improve the well-being of our people. We will continue to strive for development and the betterment of our beloved constituency,” Oshiomhole stated.
Legislative aide Adams Mumin urged beneficiaries to make productive use of the equipment rather than selling them, stressing that the initiative was a foundation for future entrepreneurship.
“Please don’t sell the empowerment tools and other materials but try to make good use of them,” he advised.
Several recipients expressed gratitude to the senator, noting that the gesture would provide families with new means of livelihood. They said the donations would help them feed their children and reduce financial hardship.
The empowerment programme is part of Oshiomhole’s broader effort to promote economic independence, strengthen community resilience, and support grassroots development across Edo North.
