Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo is encouraging eligible young men and women in Edo to participate in the ongoing Nigerian Army 91 Regular Recruits Intake.
The Governor’s call comes ahead of a scheduled visit by the Nigerian Army sensitization team to the state, taking place from April 8th to April 14th.
According to a statement released by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Patrick Ebojele, the Army’s visit aims to directly engage with potential applicants, offering guidance and support throughout the recruitment process.
Governor Okpebholo emphasized the opportunity the recruitment drive presents for Edo youth. “This is a pathway to meaningful employment, national service, and personal development through the Nigerian Army,” he stated.
He further urged qualified individuals to come forward in significant numbers, with the goal of improving Edo State’s participation and meeting its national quota for Army recruitment.
“It is a chance for young Edo people to build disciplined and purposeful careers,” the Governor added.
Beyond the individual benefits, Okpebholo stressed the importance of community involvement. He appealed to parents, guardians, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious institutions, and youth organizations to actively mobilize and encourage eligible candidates within their respective communities to participate.
Interested applicants are advised to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal for comprehensive details regarding eligibility criteria, specific requirements, and the application procedures. The Governor also cautioned candidates to ensure all necessary documentation is complete prior to attending the designated sensitization centers during the specified dates.
“The Edo State Government remains committed to creating opportunities for our youths and calls for collective support to ensure the success of this exercise,” Governor Okpebholo concluded.
