Glorious Vision University

Previously known as Samuel Adegboyega University, Glorious Vision University is located in Ogwa, Esan West Local Government Area, Edo State. The university’s management has announced that students wishing to study Religious Studies and Philosophy will receive 100% tuition reimbursement, while B.Sc. Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics students will see a 50% tuition reduction.

According to the school, this was an attempt to foster technological advancement and generate religious leaders.

During the eighth graduation ceremony, Taiwo and Kehinde Olude, a twin pair, received First Class Honours in the Economics Department and the Department of Chemical Sciences, according to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Babatunde Idowu.

He stated, “The founders believed that they could afford to support both technological advancement and some people attending the university as part of their contribution to the growth of the country.

“Today’s students are largely disinterested in studying statistics, mathematics, or physics. The concept of a 50% discount was developed as a means of encouraging them. Additionally, the church seeks to prepare pastors and other religious leaders to offer opportunities to people as a means of evangelization.”

According to the VC, the university—which was once known as Samuel Adegboyega University and is owned by The Apostolic Church—has graduated 789 students since its founding. Of those, 101 students graduated in the academic year 2022, with seven (7) receiving honors for first class, thirty-three (33) for second class (upper division), forty-six (46) for second class (lower division), seven (7) for third class, and four (4) for postgraduate work.

As the best privately-owned university in the South-South, he said, the institution has maintained its high academic standards.
