Edo State Sports Commission Praises SWAN for Promoting Sports Development and Unity

The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Mr. Amadin Enabulele, has commended the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) for its significant contributions to sports development and national unity through responsible reportage.

Enabulele made the commendation while watching the SWAN novelty match between members from the Northern and Southern regions at the St. Patrick College football pitch in Asaba.

The match, which was part of the ongoing 2025 National Youth Games, ended goalless, with both teams failing to find the net in regulation time.

Enabulele, represented by veteran sports journalist and administrator Frank Ilaboya, praised SWAN’s coverage of the games, describing it as encouraging and impressive across various media platforms.

Enabulele also commended SWAN President Isaiah Benjamin for making the association vibrant and encouraged members to continue engaging in physical exercise to boost their health and wellbeing. Benjamin, in response, reaffirmed SWAN’s commitment to partnering with stakeholders in the sports sector to promote athletes’ interests, administrators, and national unity.

The novelty match, according to Benjamin, was a sign of peace, oneness, and sportsmanship, highlighting the importance of sports in promoting unity and togetherness.

He also commended the National Sports Commission for rejuvenating sports and reiterated SWAN’s readiness to partner with the Commission.
