Obaseki Urges Otaru of Auchi to Help Choose Successor at Auchi Day Celebration

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has made a heartfelt appeal to the esteemed Otaru of Auchi, HRM Alhaji H. A. Momoh, Ikelebe III, seeking his support in selecting a worthy successor.

The plea was made during the 27th Edition of the Auchi Day Celebration, a joyous gathering held in Auchi, the administrative headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area.

Representing the governor at the event, Commissioner for Youths and Humanitarian Affairs, Dada Abubakar, emphasized the need for the royal father and the community to collaborate with Governor Obaseki to conclude his term on a high note.

“I implore you to support us in producing a worthy successor who will elevate Edo State to unparalleled heights,” Obaseki expressed.

Acknowledging the remarkable progress his administration has made in Auchi, Governor Obaseki vowed to continue delivering even more for the community. Notable achievements mentioned by the governor include the upgrading of Auchi Central Hospital to a specialist facility, the successful erosion control and rehabilitation of Igbe road, as well as the transformation of Ikelebe sport arena into a mini stadium.

Additionally, key projects such as the construction of Bishop’s Court Road GRA, Lassa fever isolation treatment facilities, and the Auchi water facility reticulation water supply scheme have greatly contributed to the area’s growth.

Governor Obaseki also revealed that extensive development plans are in store for Auchi Sacred Kingdom and other regions of the state in the upcoming year.

Grateful for the Otaru’s peaceful and inclusive leadership style, Governor Obaseki commended him for establishing a sanitation committee within the community, highlighting its impact on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.

The governor expressed his admiration by pledging a generous donation of N10 million to support their efforts.

The Otaru of Auchi emphasized the importance of this year’s celebration, focusing on the theme “Tahara (Cleanliness): A Means of Attaining Piety.” He announced the launch of a fundraising initiative aimed at acquiring sanitation equipment worth N200 million to enhance waste management systems within the community.

The Otaru emphasized Auchi’s diverse and inclusive nature, declaring that anyone residing in the city is considered a citizen, regardless of their origin.

He passionately urged corporate organizations, individuals, and community members to contribute generously towards achieving a clean and well-maintained environment.
