Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has publicly dismissed rumors suggesting a conflict with Governor Monday Okpebholo, labeling such speculation as unfounded and stemming from the actions of mischief-makers.
Idahosa made these remarks during a meeting with members and executives of the Edo Parliament of Nigeria at the Government House on Tuesday. His statements were shared in a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo.
“Let me first clarify that there is no rift between me and my principal, Governor Monday Okpebholo. This assertion is completely false,” Idahosa stated, emphasizing the strong bond he shares with the governor. He described their relationship as akin to that of an elder and a younger brother.
“Mischief makers are behind this rumor, whereas my relationship with my principal remains extremely cordial. I am grateful to him for choosing me as his deputy.” he stated.
The deputy governor took the opportunity to highlight the current administration’s commitment to good governance and its focus on enhancing the quality of life for Edo residents. He reassured the public of the government’s unwavering dedication to implementing developmental and people-centric policies.
Acknowledging the support of the visiting parliamentary members, Idahosa encouraged them to continue leveraging their expertise for the betterment of the state.
Ikponmwonsa Omorodion, President of the Edo Parliament of Nigeria, represented by Secretary-General Aimufua Festus, commended the achievements of the Okpebholo administration and congratulated Idahosa on his recent electoral success.
