In the lead-up to the gubernatorial elections in Edo State, Deputy Governor Engr Marvellous Omobayo has called for neutrality among security agencies.
Omobayo made the call during a courtesy visit by Brigadier-General Ebenezer Olusesan Oduyebo, Commander of the 4 Mechanized Brigade in Benin.
The Deputy Governor underscored his commitment to good governance and the safeguarding of lives and properties.
Omobayo expressed unwavering loyalty and support for his principal, Governor Godwin Obaseki, as he seeks to maximize his tenure as the state’s second-in-command. He also lauded the military’s role in national security, describing it as a unique institution characterized by integrity and excellence.
Brigadier-General Oduyebo, in turn, congratulated the Deputy Governor on his appointment and official assumption of office.
The visit served as a formal introduction, emphasizing the military’s commitment to collaborating with other sister security agencies to ensure a level playing field for a free, fair, and credible governorship election.
