Gov. Okpebholo Calls for Prayer Against Insecurity & for National Progress

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has emphasized the critical role of spiritual intervention in confronting Nigeria’s pressing security challenges. Speaking at LoveWorld City (Christ Embassy) in Benin City on Sunday, Governor Okpebholo implored citizens to continually seek God’s face to surmount issues such as kidnapping, cultism, and other forms of unrest plaguing the nation.

During his visit, the Governor specifically requested congregational prayers aimed at fostering enduring peace, economic prosperity, and robust governance throughout Nigeria.

He further extended this plea to include President Bola Tinubu, urging prayers for divine wisdom, guidance, and strength to effectively lead the country and navigate its economic landscape.

Expressing unwavering confidence in the efficacy of prayer, Governor Okpebholo affirmed his belief that Nigeria would ultimately prevail over its current tribulations.

“This country does not belong to kidnappers,” he declared passionately. “No individual or group should hold the nation captive for personal or political interests.” He acknowledged the escalating concern over kidnapping, particularly as elections draw nearer, but expressed optimism that collective prayers and concerted efforts would bring about a resolution.

Governor Okpebholo underscored that prayers offered for Nigeria inherently extend to safeguarding the well-being of Edo State and other regions across the country.

The officiating pastor, Moses Olayemi, subsequently led the congregation in fervent prayers for Nigeria, its leadership, local government areas, the national economy, and its diverse communities. Pastor Olayemi’s prayers encompassed divine peace, protection, economic restoration, and a spiritual awakening across Edo State and the entire nation.

Pastor Olayemi also took the opportunity to commend Governor Okpebholo for the ongoing developmental initiatives in Edo State, particularly highlighting the significant advancements in road infrastructure. “We appreciate the transformation taking place across the state.

The roads and other projects are improving daily, and we commend your efforts,” Pastor Olayemi stated. He concluded by praying for divine provision of resources and strength for the Governor to successfully complete the ongoing projects.
