During the festivities, the newly crowned Oba Iyogu II expressed his gratitude to Governor Godwin Obaseki for his pivotal role in the succession process. In recognition of the governor’s contributions, he was bestowed with the chieftaincy title “Lover of the People.” Similarly, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs was honoured with a chieftaincy title for his support for the process.
Speaking on behalf of the attending monarchs, the Ima of Somorika, Alhaji Sule Idaiye pledged the Council of Traditional Rulers’ support to the new king, signifying a unified front among the region’s leadership.
