As Christians worldwide celebrate Easter, Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has called on citizens to embrace the core tenets of love, selflessness, and sacrifice, as demonstrated by Jesus Christ. He emphasized the critical role these values play in fostering lasting peace and unity within the nation.
In his Easter message, released Saturday through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Friday Aghedo, Idahosa highlighted the significance of the holiday beyond religious observance, framing it as an opportunity for societal betterment.
“Easter reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of Christ for humanity. It is a time to reflect on His love and selflessness and imbibe those values in our daily lives,” Idahosa stated.
Acknowledging the dedication of the Christian community during the preceding 40-day period of fasting and prayer, the Deputy Governor expressed his appreciation and encouraged ongoing supplication for the well-being of Nigeria.

“The prayers and sacrifices of Christians during this season are appreciated. We must continue to pray for the peace, unity, and economic recovery of our country beyond Easter,” he affirmed.
Looking ahead, Idahosa reiterated Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration’s dedication to delivering tangible improvements to the lives of Edo State residents. He assured the public of the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.
“As a government, we are poised to fulfill our promises and touch every corner of Edo State with impactful projects and programmes,” he assured.
