The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr. Dennis Idahosa, has inaugurated a fleet of Sienna vehicles and motorcycles for security personnel in Ovia South West Local Government Area. The initiative is geared towards bolstering the security architecture in the region.
According to a statement released Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor reiterated the commitment of the Governor Monday Okpebholo-led administration to protecting the lives and property of Edo citizens.
Idahosa lauded the acting Chairman of the council, Mr. Charles Edobor, for his proactive approach in realizing the governor’s vision of ensuring the safety of the populace. He stated that the deployment of vehicles and motorcycles for patrols by security agencies would significantly enhance the security of lives and property within the area. He also advised Edobor to consistently prioritize the welfare of his constituents in all projects undertaken by the council.
The Deputy Governor also commended the council chairman for his efforts in ensuring the functionality of the legislative arm of the council through the provision of an operational vehicle. “The display of hard work by Edobor shows resilience in ensuring the development, peace, and prosperity of Ovia people,” he remarked.
In a related event, Mr. Idahosa conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a block of six classrooms at Udo Primary School. He commended the council chairman for facilitating the construction and emphasized the need for collaborative efforts among local, state, and federal governments to improve the quality of life for the people.
Earlier in his address, Mr. Edobor expressed his gratitude for the support from the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, which enabled the execution of these projects.
