The Edo State Government has pledged stronger collaboration with the Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED) to advance quality education across the state.
The Deputy Governor, Mr. Dennis Idahosa, gave the assurance on Tuesday in Benin when he received the leadership of the Edo chapter of the association during a courtesy visit.
Idahosa stated that the state government would continue to partner with private education providers to improve learning outcomes, acknowledging their significant role in expanding access to education.
He also assured the association that its request for government support would be presented to Governor Monday Okpebholo for consideration.
“We will continue to collaborate with your association in providing quality education, and I will channel your request to my principal,” he said.
Earlier, the State Controller of AFED, Mr. Olajide Ogundele, explained that the visit was aimed at introducing the association’s new leadership and deepening its partnership with the government in promoting quality, accessible and affordable education.
Ogundele appealed for government support, including the provision of a utility bus to facilitate school monitoring, stakeholder engagements and educational outreach across the 18 local government areas of the state.
