New Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Vows to Prioritize Security and Agricultural Development

Barr Tajudeen Suleiman, the newly inaugurated chairman of Akoko-Edo local government area in Edo State, has emphasized that his administration will prioritize security to foster a conducive environment for development.

Tajudeen, speaking to journalists about his agenda, emphasized that a secure environment would be the catalyst for a flourishing agricultural sector, as his administration aims to transform the region into the food basket of Edo State. With its rich cultural diversity and vast resources, Tajudeen aims to unite the people of Akoko-Edo for a common destiny, making improvements to their lives.

Recognizing that a robust security architecture is crucial, Tajudeen pledges to coordinate closely with various security agencies to ensure the safety of the area, allowing residents to sleep peacefully.

“I am also going to concentrate on agriculture once I am able to secure the land and once it is free of crime, our farmers will be able to access their farms and see how we can turn Akoko-Edo around in terms of food production making it the food basket of Edo North and Edo State in general.” he stated.

Speaking on education, he said he would be partnering with the state government’s efforts, while also organizing training programs for council staff, utilizing the existing local government staff training college at Bekuma.
